Thankful to be a part of Christ's body

A few weeks ago my life fell apart. Only over the past few days have I finally been able to put a couple of the puzzle pieces back together. The simple things you take for granted disappeared. Being able to think rationally was impossible. The ability to love my family by caring for my wife and children evaporated. The simple acts of eating and sleeping became chores. I watched my life get ripped apart and I couldn't do anything but watch myself continue to wreck havoc everywhere I went. Describing it as scary would be an understatement, it was horrific. Nevertheless, God has a way of using suffering and stupidity for His purposes. I am learning a lot through difficult circumstances. And so in this post I wish it were possible to express my gratitude to all those who have been in my path of destruction, especially my servant-hearted and faithful wife who has put up with more than anyone should. I am indebted to the love shown by Christ's body as many have prayed and loved my family when I couldn't. And so this post is for all of you who have been the hands and feet of Christ. Thank You... you know who you are.

With Love,

Ben Alexander

Are you serving the right master?

John 7:7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that what it does is evil.

When is the last time someone told you, "I hate Christians"? Or when is the last time someone looked at you and asked, "are you delusional?" Or have you ever had people shake their heads and laugh because to them what you believe is irrational? All of these have happened to me over the past few days. I used to rationalize against Francis Chan's book titled Crazy Love. I thought the book was too radical, not balanced enough and just overly impractical. How wrong was I. Genuine Christianity is not the easy path. It sucks, it is difficult and people will hate you when you start rebuking them for their evil. Not that there isn't unexplainable joys and blessings but those things are not obtained by being lukewarm, hypocritical snails of Christ (such people are unworthy of even being called a "follower of Christ"). You are either fully devoted or you are not ... you either submit to Christ's authority or you don't. There is no in between. Stop fooling yourself into thinking you can actually serve two masters, it isn't possible. You're either building Christ's kingdom or Satan's ... make sure you invest in the right one.
